Morelia apologizes for coach Filadelfo Rangel's sexist remark

Liga MX club Morelia has issued an apology for its women's team's coach Filadelfo Rangel remarks after the side's 0-0 draw with Necaxa on Friday.

When explaining his team's failure to finish chances, Rangel suggested that it had to do with women being more "indecisive."

"It's because of indecision," said Rangel in the postgame press conference. "The indecision of women. It's like in life, they are more indecisive than men in taking decisions."

The comments sparked a backlash on social media and some calls for Rangel to be removed from his job.

The club released a statement late Friday indicating that Rangel's comments don't reflect the values of the club and said that Rangel would be offering a public apology at a press conference in coming days.

Necaxa coach Fabiola Vargas responded afterwards: "Each person has their own opinion, but I don't think (women are more indecisive). It they were I wouldn't be here."
