Aaron Ramsey injured late on as Wales prevail in Andorra

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey limped off during Wales' narrow Euro 2016 qualifying victory against Andorra and could be now be a doubt for Saturday's Premier League clash with Manchester City.

After turning smartly on the ball, Ramsey appeared to be caught on the back of his Achilles by a defender. The 23-year-old was brought off by manager Chris Coleman in added time and Arsenal fans will have been worried by the sight of Ramsey's limping departure.

He was later seen getting his right foot strapped by the physio and also had ice-pack treatment.

Ramsey, who suffered an injury-hit campaign last year, has enjoyed a fine start to Arsenal's new season.

"He got a kick and there was a twist in his ankle," Coleman said. "It was coming to the end of the game and it was pointless taking a risk with him.

"Hopefully he'll be OK for Arsenal at the weekend but we'll have to see what the next 24 to 48 hours hold."

Coleman was unhappy with the rough treatment dished out to his side during the 2-1 victory, which saw a Gareth Bale-double save their blushes after the hosts had ended a four-year wait for a competitive goal from the penalty spot.

Coleman told Sky Sports: "There were half a dozen challenges that weren't very good. The referee should have clamped down but he let it go and we are a bit disappointed with that -- we had a bit to contend with tonight."

Coleman was similarly unhappy with the state of the 3G pitch, adding: "[Andorra] are a fighting nation and when we arrived my heart sunk when we trained on [the pitch].

"It shouldn't be played on at our level, the good thing is that we got three points and everyone else has to come here. I am delighted with the lads. With the expectation on us, it was never going to be easy -- you couldn't run with the ball and we had to gamble at times. It's three points whether we win 1-0 or 3-0."

Andorra coach Koldo Alvarez dismissed Coleman's criticism of the pitch but did not want to talk about the issue.

"I'm no expert but we just played and defended well as team," Alvarez said.
