Denmark striker Nicklas Bendtner could be ruled out of the World Cup after being injured in Rosenborg's game in the Norwegian league on Sunday.
Bendtner limped off with a thigh problem with 20 minutes remaining of a 2-1 loss to Brann -- shortly after scoring a goal that was incorrectly ruled out for offside.
The former Arsenal forward is set for a scan on Monday which could decide his chances of featuring in Russia next month.
Asked if Bendtner could still be fit for the tournament in Russia, Rosenborg's medical chief Haakon Schwabe said: "He can, absolutely, but it could be a race against time."
Bendtner still made the cut when Denmark coach Age Hareide dropped eight players from his 35-man provisional World Cup squad on Sunday evening, after he had suffered the injury. However, Hareide still needs to cut four more players before the tournament starts.
Schwabe said Bendtner was due to join up with the Denmark squad on Monday and that the national team's medical staff would assess the injury further.
Bendtner scored Denmark's fifth goal in their 5-1 World Cup qualifying playoff win over Republic of Ireland to book a place at the finals.
Denmark start their World Cup campaign against Peru on June 16 before going on to play Australia and France in the group stage.
