TOP STORY: PSG want to bring Kante home
Paris Saint-Germain are set on bringing N'Golo Kante home this summer, according to the Sunday Mirror.
The paper reports that PSG have ditched their interest in Everton's Idrissa Gueye and are intent on offering Kante a deal he can't refuse before the summer transfer window slams shut. Manager Thomas Tuchel has been vocal about his need for defensive players, even taking the opportunity to mention it once again when asked about signing Antoine Griezmann.
Whether Chelsea agree to sell him is up for debate, particularly as they can't delve into the transfer market themselves. If Eden Hazard exits Stamford Bridge for Real Madrid this summer, the sale of Kante might be too much for Chelsea fans to stomach.

22.44 BST: We end Sunday's live edition of Transfer Talk with news from Arsenal. Goal reports that the Gunners have made 18-year-old Saint-Etienne centre-back William Saliba their primary transfer target this summer, and speculates that it could take as much as £25m to land the France U19 international.
21.40 BST: "Nicolas Pepe will leave," Canal+ quotes Lille manager Christophe Galtier as saying, according to the Mirror, with the 23-year-old winger drawing interest from Manchester United, Arsenal and a host of other clubs.
20.03 BST: Everton have set the asking price for attacker Richarlison at €120m, the player's agent is quoted as saying by the Liverpool Echo.

16.49 BST: It is being reported in The Sun that Manchester United man Alexis Sanchez will cut short his holiday in order to prove his fitness ahead of the new season.
Sanchez has been heavily linked with a return to Italy this summer, but he may be keen for one last crack at becoming an Old Trafford success.
16.24 BST: Sticking with Spain, Real Betis have confirmed Quique Setien has left his position as manager of the club.

15.49 BST: Zinedine Zidane has said he left Gareth Bale out because of his attitude as speculation he is on the verge of leaving Real Madrid intensify.
"It is true, I did not [give Bale a chance to say goodbye]," Zidane said. "If I had another substitute to make, I would not have done anything different.
"But I have to look at the day-to-day, and make decisions. And when there is something I do not like, or does not fit for me, I must do what I think best. It might be difficult for the player.
"We cannot forget all he has done here, but I must live in the present, think of the future. We will see [if Bale continues]. I don't know what will happen, truthfully."
15.15 BST: Chelsea have triggered an option to extend Olivier Giroud's contract with the club, according to Telefoot.

14.36 BST: Barcelona have asked Matthijs de Ligt to make a "sacrifice" as they continue to negotiate a deal, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The two parties had reached an original agreement but De Ligt's recent performances with Ajax had seen agent Mino Raiola increase his client's demands.
13.58 BST: Gareth Bale was an unused sub as Real Madrid finished the season with a limp 2-0 defeat at home to Real Betis and walked straight down the tunnel at full-time without acknowledging the supporters.
Was that his last appearance at the Bernabeu at a home player?
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Keylor Navas, who also expected to leave this summer, was given a rousing reception by the home supporters.
13.12 BST: Speculation Lazio manager Simone Inzaghi could replace Massimiliano Allegri at Juventus has intensified after he cancelled his prematch news conference ahead of the clash with Bologna on Monday.
He will instead only speak to Lazio Style, the club's in-house TV channel. Is he trying to avoid uncomfortable questions?
12.41 BST: Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba must hand in a transfer request in order to force his move to Real Madrid, The Sun claim.
The report adds that, while Ole Gunnar Solsksjaer is happy to allow a player he believes no longer wants to be there to go, executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has no intention of selling the World Cup-winner.
12.10 BST: Bayern Munich are known for not spending a massive amount of money, but that has changed a bit this season. Signing Benjamin Pavard from Stuttgart for €35m and Lucas Hernandez from Atletico Madrid for €80m, club president Uli Hoeness says they won't be making a habit of it.
"We're not playing Monopoly here. We're a soccer club" he told Bild. "We have reached a limit with €80m, and I don't think that we'll exceed it in further transfers."

11.47 BST: Charlton midfielder Joe Aribo has been tracked by Arsenal and Manchester City of late, but the Daily Express claims that Southampton are interested.
Aribo, 22, is out of contract in the summer and has also reportedly been watched by Rangers and Celtic.
11.05 BST: UPDATE: Vincent Kompany is not just leaving Man City, he's leaving to become player-manager of Anderlecht.
"For the next 3 years, I will take up the role of Player-Manager of RSC Anderlecht," he wrote on Facebook. "I have decided to take up the challenge at RSC Anderlecht. Player-Manager. I want to share my knowledge with the next purple generations. With that, I will also put a bit of Manchester in the heart of Belgium."
10.58 BST: Bournemouth got in early as the Premier League window open by sealing a move for Bristol City defender Lloyd Kelly, and now they are ready to bid £15m for Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope, say the Mail.
With Asmir Begovic out of favour on the south coast a new keeper is priority No. 1, while Stoke's Jack Butland has also been linked. But Pope, 27, would cost less.
10.35 BST: Everton want to sell around 15 players this summer, which is bad news for Ademola Lookman.
The England U21 winger is available for around £20m, say the Daily Mail, if there's any interested parties.

09.42 BST: Arsenal have been after a winger for some time, but Denis Suarez's loan from Barcelona hasn't worked out and they missed out on quite a few options in January. Now, the Sun reckons they are keen on Wilfried Zaha of Crystal Palace.
Palace want £80m, Arsenal are only willing to pay £40m for the 26-year-old Ivory Coast international. So this is probably only going to end one way.
09.00 BST: Well then, we like to start with a bang sometimes and we can bring you news that Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany will leave the club this summer, having secured an historic domestic treble.
"As overwhelming as it is, the time has come for me to go," he said in a post on Facebook. "And what a season to bow out. I feel nothing but gratefulness. I am grateful to all those who supported me on a special journey, at a very special club."

Madrid eyeing transfer bonanza
On the subject of Madrid, get set for a summer of frenzied transfer activity at the Bernabeu, according to Marca.
Zinedine Zidane has reportedly been handed a whopping £265 million war chest to turn Madrid's fortunes around, though the former midfield wizard will have to work some magic to raise some of those funds.
Gareth Bale, Dani Ceballos, Keylor Navas and Marcos Llorente are all expected to head for the exit in the coming months. The likes of Luka Jovic and Ferland Mendy are then expected to join the already signed, sealed and delivered pairing of Eder Militao and Rodrygo by the time the serious action resumes in August.
Groundhog day at Goodison Park
It has hardly been unusual to see a summer of upheaval and mass comings and goings at Goodison Park in recent seasons.
Now the Daily Mail is reporting that it's likely to be more of the same over the next months.
First out of the door could be Ademola Lookman for around £20 million as the Toffees look to revamp a bloated squad that, until the final third of the season, was massively under-performing. Lookman is likely to attract the attention of Crystal Palace, Southampton and Red Bull Leipzig if he does become available. The player himself is no doubt keen to move on, having failed to nail down a place in Marco Silva's starting XI for most of the season.
The Mail, though, reports that he could be one of up to 15 players to leave Merseyside before the start of next season. Among those thought to be involved in the cull include Jonjoe Kenny, Oumar Niasse, Cenk Tosun and Yannick Bolasie.
Lyon's Bertrand Traore is said to be one of the players on Silva's summer shopping list, though his £40 million asking price might be enough to put them off.

The Baggies missed out on the playoffs against Aston Villa last week, and now that misery looks set to be compounded by the loss of a player who spent this season on loan at Newcastle. The Geordies aren't keen on shelling out the £16.5 million release clause in his contract, which has alerted Wolves, who face competition for his signature from West Ham and Everton.
-- Rumours of an Arsenal move for Thomas Partey have gained extra legs after Gunners' boss Unai Emery was spotted watching Atletico Madrid's final match of the season against Levante, courtesy of the Mirror. The North London side have been linked with a move for Partey for some time, though Emery will have been frustrated by Diego Simone's decision to haul him off at half-time.
