Transfer Rater: Lucas Paqueta to Manchester United, Nicolo Barella to Liverpool

Things change in the blink of an eye in football. The Football Whispers Index takes the latest transfer rumours and gives them a score out of five; the higher the score, the more realistic and reliable the Whisper.

Here are today's top five emerging whispers. And keep an eye on Transfer Talk for all the latest gossip.

Ivan Perisic to Man Utd

Jose Mourinho's side are reportedly back in for the Croatia international as part of any deal to take Anthony Martial to Inter Milan. The Daily Star are reporting that the Serie A club are interested in taking Martial on loan, but Manchester United will ask for Perisic as part of the deal. Martial has struggled for playing time at Old Trafford and is a target for a number of other clubs around Europe, including Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain.

Nicolo Barella to Liverpool

The 21-year-old has been linked with a transfer to the Premier League and also Serie A sides Juventus and Napoli, but would reportedly prefer a move to England. The Cagliari midfielder had offers in the summer but his club turned them down, while he told Gazzetta dello Sport that his "dream is to get a nice house with a garden and a pool. And to meet LeBron James." James is a Liverpool shareholder, which has led to suggestions that a move to the Merseyside club may see both of Barella's dreams become a reality.

Son Heung-Min to Bayern

The South Korea international recently triumphed with his national team at the Asian Games, making him and his teammates exempt from the two years of military service Koreans need to complete once they turn 28. This has seen the Tottenham man's value rise, and naturally there has been interest from other clubs as he will now be available to play through his peak years. Calciomercato report that Bayern Munich are looking at Son as an option to replace the ageing Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben.

Lucas Paqueta to Man Utd

Manchester United are expected to challenge Paris Saint-Germain for the signature of the Brazilian midfielder, who is set to leave current side Flamengo in January. Barcelona and AC Milan are also among the teams interested, but Le10Sport report that Jose Mourinho's side will push for his signature in a bid to revitalise their midfield. Paqueta's release clause stands at £45 million, although the report states that he could be sold for less.

Miranda to Porto

The Brazilian centre-back has been linked with Porto for the second time this year, and could make the move in January as he seeks first-team football. The 34-year-old's Inter Milan contract expires next summer, and though the club are trying to sign him up for another year, Calciomercato report that he would prefer a more prominent role in the team in his later years. This is something Porto are willing to offer.
