Transfer Talk: Man United's Eric Bailly linked with Arsenal and Tottenham

The transfer window for all of Europe's big five leagues is closed, but that doesn't stop Transfer Talk from rummaging around about who will be moving where come January.

Spurs and Arsenal set to battle for United's Bailly

North London rivals Tottenham and Arsenal could be in competition for Manchester United defender Eric Bailly in January, according to the Mirror.

It says Ivory Coast international Bailly, who has been on the bench since United lost at Brighton, "could be ready to quit the club in January."

Both Spurs and the Gunners are keeping tabs on the situation amid growing uncertainty over the future of the 24-year-old, who moved to Old Trafford two years ago.

The Mirror says Bailly "appears to have been blamed by Jose Mourinho" for the Brighton defeat and faces a decision over his future if he is "frozen out."

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino "is known to be a big admirer," while Arsenal "could also look to strengthen their defence" with a move for him.

Meanwhile, Inter Milan have not given up hope of signing United's France forward Anthony Martial and could bring him in on loan with Ivan Perisic going the other way, according to the Sun.

Citing reports in Italy, it says Inter -- who targeted Martial in the summer only to find United reluctant to sell -- are optimistic that they can tempt him to Serie A.

And Mourinho, previously linked with Perisic, could finally see the 29-year-old Croatia international arriving in a loan swap.

City linked with PSG star Rabiot

Both Liverpool and Barcelona were said to be in the market for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot earlier in the summer -- but now he has emerged as a target for Manchester City.

Rabiot is into the final year of his PSG deal and will be free to talk to overseas clubs from January, with the Manchester Evening News saying City are one of four sides interested.

Citing reports in France, it says he is likely to leave PSG amid a "deteriorating" relationship with the Ligue 1 champions.

Barcelona remain in the frame for Rabiot, while the Evening News reports that Juventus and Tottenham could rival City if he becomes available.

City boss Pep Guardiola, meanwhile, is reported to be interested in Lyon midfielders Lucas Tousart and Tanguy Ndombele, who are likely to face his side in the Champions League next week.

Tap-ins

-- Crystal Palace midfielder Jason Puncheon could join Nottingham Forest on loan in January after a summer switch to Middlesbrough fell through, the Nottingham Post reports.

It says Puncheon wants regular first-team football after being sidelined by injury for much of last season, while Forest could also be interested in his Eagles teammate Bakary Sako.

-- Scottish champions Celtic want to sign attacker Nick Powell from Championship side Wigan but face competition from Brighton, according to reports.

Powell, who struck 15 times as Wigan won promotion from League One and has added three more goals this season, may be more tempted by a move to the Premier League with the Seagulls.
