In case you didn't know, defending champions Real Madrid were knocked out of the Champions League on Tuesday night after suffering their heaviest home defeat in European competition, losing 4-1 against Ajax at the Bernabeu.
The dismal night was encapsulated by the sight of club captain Sergio Ramos remonstrating and gesticulating from his VIP box, where he was watching after getting himself deliberately suspended for the game in the first leg.
After securing a 2-1 win in the first leg, Ramos drew a 90th-minute booking that he knew would result in him being banned for the return tie -- the skipper labouring under the misguided belief that Real would sail through and his disciplinary slate would be wiped clean for the rest of the tournament.

Unfortunately for the centre-back, his grand Machiavellian scheme backfired somewhat as he was rendered powerless to prevent his side getting pulverised on their own soil.
Just to make matters worse (or better, depending on which way your footballing allegiances lie), Ramos had also invited a camera crew into his box to capture behind-the-scenes footage for an upcoming documentary.

Ramos announced back in January that he is filming a series that will air on Amazon Prime Video. The series, which will include eight 30 minute episodes, focuses on the personal and professional side of Ramos and his family.
The defender, who is engaged to TV presenter Pilar Rubio, the mother of his three boys -- Sergio, Marco and Alejandro -- has 15.7m followers on Twitter and 29.9m on Instagram.
"Ramos went down to the dressing room before the match to give encouragement," reported MARCA. "Then, during the game, some cameras recorded his reactions for the documentary that Amazon is making."
We don't envy the editing team, who most certainly have their work cut out to salvage anything non-expletive laden from an entire evening's worth of filming.
