Pep Guardiola takes jab at Benjamin Mendy and his hilarious Twitter account

It has been quite an eventful year for Manchester City left-back Benjamin Mendy. From moving from Monaco to City, to suffering an ACL rupture, to winning both the Premier League and the World Cup, it certainly has been a whirlwind 12 months for the Frenchman.  Despite playing just seven times last season for City, the Frenchman was ever-present thanks in large part to his vibrant presence on social media.

Mendy became an instant hit last season in England with fans for his witty and quite active Twitter account @benmendy23. The 24-year-old is a huge personality and likes to have fun, especially when it comes to starting some banter on the social media site. Whether he is trolling teammate Kyle Walker, re-enacting a scene from the movie "Cool Runnings," exuberantly cheering on his teammates or having a light-hearted go at London's Metro Police, Mendy has become a must-follow for Premier League and football fans.

Mendy's smile and sense of humour is contagious and has made him one of most popular players with City fans. Not everyone is a big fan of the French full-back's Twitter account and social media presence, though. His manager Pep Guardiola took a bit of a jab at Mendy and his Twitter after Sunday's win over Arsenal.

How would Mendy respond to his boss' comments? Well, with a tweet of course!

It looks as if our guy Mendy is in a bit of hot water with the boss. Mendy without his Twitter account would be like a fish out of water, and I for one hope he ignores Guardiola's advice and continues on being one of the funniest footballers on social media.

Keep being your entertaining self Benjamin!
