Elton John's 7-year-old son signs for Watford academy

Having already been ordained as the club's honorary president for life, it looks like Elton John's longstanding association with Watford FC is going to live on into a second generation.

Indeed, the legendary pop star's 7-year-old son, Zachary Furnish-John, has just signed a deal to join the Hornets' academy side.

Speaking about Zachary and his 5-year-old brother Elijah, Elton said: "They're thriving. They're 7 and 5 now. Zachary is incredibly into soccer. He plays for the Watford academy team."

Elton was originally appointed chairman of Watford in 1976 and oversaw their mercurial rise from the Fourth Division up and into the First Division (in 1982), before going on to actually own the club twice in two separate stints.
