Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappe paid over half-a-million euros for a statue of King Kong at a charity auction after outbidding teammate Neymar, whose shirt from his first match for the club was sold off for almost €250,000. A total of €1.645m was raised for the PSG Foundation at Tuesday night's gala dinner at the Parc des Princes, over €1m more than last year, according to L'Equipe. That sum was boosted significantly by the bidding war between Neymar and Mbappe for a Richard Orlinski statue of King Kong. Eventually, the 20-year-old France striker won out with a bid of €550,000. The shirt Neymar wore as he made his PSG debut following his world-record €222m move from Barcelona last summer went for €240,000. The same price was paid for the Ligue 1 Player of the Year award the Brazilian won last Sunday, which was signed by the man himself.
